About Rita Lutterodt
Meet Rita Lutterodt, the visionary founder of Botaniq Luxe. Born and raised in New York, Rita was surrounded by the wisdom of natural remedies in her Caribbean/African home. Traditional practices for treating illnesses often extended to beauty and wellness, revealing the incredible benefits of natural ingredients. This cultural heritage deeply influences the values and mission of Botaniq Luxe.
Rita’s passion for creating self-care products began at the age of 16. Driven by vanity and a desire for shiny hair, she started making her own hair products using kitchen ingredients like olive oil. What started as a way to circumvent her parents' refusal to buy store-bought products grew into a broader exploration of self-care solutions.
The inspiration for Botaniq Luxe emerged during the unprecedented times of the pandemic. With stores closed and a lifelong curiosity about mixing self-care products, Rita found solace in crafting her own remedies. This time, she aimed to elevate the experience by making it both convenient and toxin-free.
Now living in Amsterdam, Rita embarked on the journey of creating Botaniq Luxe without a background in the beauty industry. This meant learning through trial and error, facing significant challenges such as finding sustainable manufacturers and building a brand in a foreign country. However, Rita discovered that being authentic attracted the right people who were pivotal in helping build Botaniq Luxe.
